Large spill of light oil occured from one of the vessels in the port. PWS responded within 2 hours and mobilised to the site. Immediate deployment of containment booms and recovery of spilled material. Post-spill clean-up of quay walls and associated infrastructure.
One of many remediation projects caused by an old fire heating system. Faulty underground fuel line leaking for a long time. As a result of Site Assessment contaminated soils were dug out for authorised disposal. Chemical oxidation in-situ treatment was applied to deal with remaining residual contamination on site.
Large oil spill occured as a result of poor condition of an agricultural equipment. Substantial quantity of agri-diesel sunk into the soil in immediate vicinity of important aquifer. PWS appeared on site within hours. Immediate response and close cooperation with Kerry County Council and Irish Water made this project smooth and prevented large scale ground water contamination.
